If you’re like me, you’ve spent the majority of your life playing sports. Sports are a great way to stay active and get some exercise, but they can also be quite dangerous if you don’t take proper precautions. In this blog post, I’ll be going over some simple things that every sports player should do before their next match. So keep reading if you want to find out more about these tips!
Taping Your Ankles
Taping your ankles is an important step in preventing injuries. You should use athletic tape, which has a strong adhesive and will stay on for a long time, says Dr Bruce Grossinger. Make sure you have enough tape to cover all of your ankles, as well as some extra for mistakes or adjustments later on.
When taping your ankles:
- Wrap the tape around one ankle at a time and secure it by wrapping it around itself again once or twice (depending on how tight you want them).
- Leave about a half inch between each piece of tape so they don’t overlap too much when they’re finished being wrapped around both ankles together (you’ll see this more clearly when we get into taking off the tape).
- If there are any gaps between pieces of athletic wrap left over after all four sides have been completed then just cut them off with scissors since no one will see them anyway!
Warming Up Properly
Warming up properly is an essential part of any sports match. Dr Bruce Grossinger recommends warming up for at least 20 minutes before your game, and you should make sure that your warm-up includes a variety of exercises to warm up all the muscles in your body. A good way to do this is by jogging, skipping, and stretching. You can also use light weights as part of your warm-up routine – but don’t lift too heavy, because it could lead to injury!
Another important thing to remember when warming up is that not every muscle needs working out equally: some muscles may need more attention than others (or none at all). For example: if you play tennis regularly then it would probably be a good idea for me as an experienced coach or trainer who knows about these things – although there are no guarantees – but if someone else were coaching me instead then maybe not so much?
Drinking Plenty Of Water During The Match
If you’re playing a sport, it’s important to drink plenty of water before and during the match.
- Drink water before you start playing. This will help prevent dehydration and keep your body hydrated during the game.
- Drink water every time you take a break from playing (for example: at half-time). This will help keep your energy levels up and prevent fatigue from setting in too early on in the match!
- Don’t forget about rehydrating after each match – this means drinking plenty of fluids (such as water) over the next few hours or days so that all those precious minerals get replenished back into their proper places inside our bodies again! Not only does this mean no more cramps but also better performance overall when we return next time around.”
