Foods that are a must-try in Japan

Food has always been a topic of curiosity for people. The different cuisines that the world has to offer, is one of the driving factors for tourism as well. However, when it comes to food in the east, Japanese dishes have been dominating the bucket list items of many. There is a unique specialty in Japan food and drink that combines the essentials of tradition, culture and modernity. It is a home to some of the oldest dishes known to earliest civilizations. Here are some of the food items to must try in Japan.

Sushi

The first dish is already a star item in the whole world. Sushi is a mark for the excellence of Japan in food making and dishes. It has had a growing popularity ever since it was exported to the US back in 1868 from the Meiji restoration. It primarily comprises of special Japan rice that is seasoned using rice vinegar. There are innumerable varieties and variations of sushis developed from time to time. Some fo of the most common are makizushi, Inariszushi and nigiri zushi. All of these are quite famous among the tourists.

Tofu

The name Tofu has always been associated with something of a health food in the western countries. It is evaluated as a vegetarian alternative for excess protein. However, in the eastern countries like Japan it is much more of a cuisine and they know how to make the best of it. Here, Tofu is decorated with different garnishes and adorned with sidings to add new flavor, taste and decorative orientations for taste.

Yakitori

This is one of the famous snack picks of Japan. One can easily find people picking Yakitori as a snack for watching sports or any other event. It is actually barbecued chicken but with an eastern orientation to it. It contains bite sized chicken pieces that are decorated with salts and seasoned over with different sauces.
